Cupcakes and 3D Cake Class in Kuching (21st of June 2009)

Good day everybody..as usual all the pictures editing and uploading were done by my hubby. So this morning as i rushed off to the lab to prepare and run my experiment (the one i should have run yesterday), i totally forgot that my hubby had uploaded the picture last night. As i am in the midst of doing my analysis, i took my 5 minutes to write something about this entry.

The previous class in Kuching was fun and enjoyable experience for me. I had to meet few pople who have actually started their cupcake business (Safida, Anor, Intan and Haslin) , so it's more like sharing whatever knowledge (which is very little heheeh) i have in cupcake and cake decoration.

Also, i met one mature lady..hehe...Puan Dyg Jamilah whom i admire for her spirit to learn many things in spite of her age. She is going to retire soon but i hope this cupcake and cake decoration passion that she is about to explore will keep her busy all the time. It was also a fruitful gathering as all the participants while decorating, took the opportunity to share information on matter mostly related to cupcake. The class started at 9:30 am and finished at 1:30 pm for cupcake decoration. After lunch we continued with 3d cake decoration until 530 pm. and I have one hour to pack my stuff and off to the airport at 6:30 p.m. Yes, i was exhausted but looking at the pictures taken during the class and having to know these people, its worth it..heheh(macam iklan Loreal pulak..).

To all the participants, thanks a lot and don't forget kek palak meja raya tok...heheh..My apology on the quality of the pictures as i used digital camera belong to my uncle. Cannot afford to bring my camera man....yet. Ok, time's up...need to get back to my analysis....

ORDER FROM BRUNEI

Assalamualaikum. It had been a pleasure and honour for me to fulfill the from Hajah Junaidah from Brunei DS. She requested pink, purple and green theme hantaran for both cupcake and cake. The hantaran cake is a sarawak speciality fruit cake known as Kek Hati Pari which is made from finely chopped raisins, chocolate, horlick and can stand and last up to 2 months. The cake is covered with white fondant and decorated with purple and pink flowers, with Selamat Pengantin Baru wishes on top of the cake. For the cupcake, I prepared the roses myself 3 days before the decoration. To Zarinah and Zairy: "Selamat Pengantin Baru" and to Hajah, terima kasih daun keladi, datang KL orderlah lagi.. ;)

Dia meminta tema warna merah jambu, ungu dan hijau sebagai hantaran bagi kedua-dua kek cawan (cupcake) dan kek. Kek hantaran adalah kek buah-buahan istimewa dikenali dengan Kek Hati Pari yang diperbuat dari kismis kisar, kepingan coklat, horlick dan boleh tahan sehingga 2 bulan. Kek ini dilitupi fondant dihiasi bunga ungu dan merah jambu serta ucapan Selamat Pengantin Baru di atas kek. Untuk kek cawan, saya sendiri membuat bunga ros 3 hari sebelum menghiasnya. Kek Lapis Cadbury and Birthday Cuppies

Salam to all viewers. I just got back from Kuching last night (arrived home at 1230 midnite). All the kids had fall asleep. To those who wanted to place their order for fathers' day, i am sorry for not being able to fulfill ur request. Even for my hubby, i only manage to grab a box of ferero rocher on my way out from the airport terminal as a gift for father's day. Still tired from my cuppies and 3d class from Kuching ( i will upload the pictures soon). For this entry, i want to introduce our new product for kek lapis collections, Kek Lapis Cadbury. It has lots and lots of cadbury chunks in it and it looks as good as its taste. Suitable for all events.

Last week i had cuppies order from Norie who previously ordered 3d cake for his son bday. This time it was for her mother who works in TNB Bangsar. She specifically requested this butterfly design with purple and pink theme. Last week also i had order from Puan Junaidah who had fly all the way from Brunei. And it was a pure coincidence that her theme was also pink and purple. I will upload her order in the next entry. To all of my friends in Kuching who had join cupcake and 3d cake class, thank you and jangan tak praktis.... :)

First and foremost i would like to apologise to those who place their orders this week as i am off baking (except for one kek lapis idola for my neighbour) whom their daughter is pregnant and crave for this kek lapis. This is the last week of school mid year break and i need to bring my children somewhere. And we chose to go to somewhere colder, with plenty of fresh air, tranquil and most importantly within our budget...heheeh...So, just to give u guys a new stuff to browse through, these two pictures fwere rom last week order. Kek hantaran moss green colour requested by Huda and luckily the mixture of maroon, lemon yellow and dark green did produce a very nice green moss fondant. To balance the richness of this colour, i used a light green flower as the top deco and finish the deco with a silver ribbon around the heart shaped cake.

In the midst of all the wedding, anniversary and hantaran cake, i received a request for Azian's birthday cake. I always enjoy decorating the birthday cake as there is no fix rule and you can deco all day long with ur imagination, and the best part is the cake will always look adorable...at least to me..hehehe..So, thank you again for all of your support and IRABAKERY is OPEN as usual next week... :)

Blue Wedding

Alhamdulillah, this school holiday brought a lot of joy to those who tie the knot and as well as those who bake the cake...ehhehe...Last week i had a call from Huda who on behalf of her friend requested a wedding cake and cupcake in blue theme (100 pcs). She also wanted a moss green fondant cake as hantaran (i will upload later). I have to admit that a very good friend like huda is very rare to have. She was doing everything from ordering to picking up both cakes and cupcakes for her dear friend. On the night of the wedding she came to my house at 11 pm to pick up the three tier wedding cake and hantaran cake. A friend in need is a friend indeed. Thanks Huda for 100 cuppies, a hantaran cake and 3-tier wedding cake. And thanks also for the forthcoming order this 20th June.

Sarawak Layered Cake for wedding gift (Hantaran)

Last week most of the orders were for wedding occasions. And kek lapis sarawak have become an alternative choice for those who want to have both delicous and beautiful looking cake. The first and second picture was an order from Kak Zaharah for her brother wedding all the way from Terengganu. This beautiful layer cake was partly covered with fondant so that ppl can still enjoy its beautiful design. The third picture was kek lapis idola (horlick and chocolate in centre)for Afeeq and Shima wedding in Taman Segambut. These cakes were pleasent to your eyes and heavin in your mouth...;)

Cupcakes and Cake Decoration Class (1st June 2009)

This week i had special guests all the way from Miri, Sarawak. Both were very enthusiasted to get their hands on experience in cupcake decoration. What more interesting is their both had no basic/experience in cake baking and decoration. While gossiping and laughing (i had fun too and it was a destressing activities for three of us), both manage to finish their hands on class by 5p.m.

For cake decoration, Sita chose to decorate a birthday cake with car theme for her boy, while Rinnie who is still in her honeymoon phase chose to decorate a romantic anniversary cake with red roses as part of the deco. Quite impressive for a beginner. The class was ended with photo session, and they both seems to enjoy the photo session more than anyone who have attended my class (some were refused for their picture to be taken). To people in Miri, you can contact my two lovely students (and cousins..heheh) for your order....

Wedding Cake

Selamat Pengantin Baru to sweet couple Hajar and Hilmi. Hajar is a friend of mine who had placed her order 3 months before the wedding date (30 May 2009). Luckily my hubby keep me reminded about Hajar's wedding date which unfortunately i couldn't attend since my two kids were having their taekwondo exam and my hubby were busy with his department sports tournament. For the hantaran event, she requested a maroon theme and i chose a simple design with dominant white colur to match the event, putih itu suci :) ..... For the wedding event, she requested for two tier cake and compliments with cupcakes maroon and white theme. Again, thank you Hajar and all the best ...(jgn cuti lama2...)

Anniversary Cake

This time around there are plenty of orders made for anniversary cake. These two cakes were order from Putrajaya, peach and pink theme. Having the same wedding anniversary date, both chose the same flavour for their cake, butter cheese cake. Happy wedding anniversary! (my anniversary dah 9 tahun tak pernah ada wedding aniversary cake...may be yg ke sepuluh nanti kot..heehe ;)
